What we disclosed

No user data. We do not have messages, contact lists, account details, phone numbers or logs of who connected to which relay, so there was nothing to disclose.

In 1 case we confirmed information that is already public: that a relay is listed in the directory, and which organization runs it.

Notes

A technical assistance notice issued under a new law in one jurisdiction would have required us to make messages readable on request. We challenged the notice, and it was withdrawn in March 2024. We have said before, and repeat here, that we would stop operating relays in a jurisdiction rather than comply with such a notice.
