What it does
- Linked to your phone by scanning a code; up to four computers per person
- Decrypts attachments in memory and writes them to disk only when you save them
- Locks after a period of inactivity
- Unlinking from the phone removes every key from the computer at its next connection
In earlier versions the desktop client kept decrypted attachments in a temporary folder until it was closed. This was reported in the 2026 audit as GL4-M2 and fixed before release.
Where it comes from
Instructions for installing the desktop client appear in the mobile app when you choose to link a computer. Frothly does not offer it for download on this site.
